Explicit content involving a Trump-endorsed candidate for North Carolina's governorship was eliminated from an adult-oriented online platform.
It's uncertain if the comments were eliminated by Robinson himself or administrators from Nude Africa. Neither Robinson's campaign nor Nude Africa responded to requests for comment from CNN.
Robinson disavows making the comments, which were made between 2008 and 2012 – prior to his entrance into politics and his role as lieutenant governor – and contradict his public positions on matters like abortion and transgender rights.
Robinson included his full name on his profile for Nude Africa, a pornographic website containing a message board as well as a multitude of websites where he used the same email address for years.
Explicitly sexual and crude in nature, the comments were made under the username minisoldr, a name Robinson frequently used online. CNN was able to determine that the username was Robinson by matching numerous biographical details and a shared email address between the two.
Robinson faced mounting pressure to withdraw from the race, in which he's currently competing against Democrat Josh Stein to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper. The revelations included him calling himself a "black NAZI!" and expressing support for reinstating slavery.
The state law's deadline for a candidate to withdraw their name from the ballot was Thursday, with the state's first absentee ballots set to be dispatched on Friday.
Robinson's political aspirations were put under scrutiny due to the controversial comments made during his online activities prior to his entry into politics. Despite facing criticism and calls for his withdrawal, he remains in the race against Democratic opponent Josh Stein to replace Governor Roy Cooper.
