Weather Prediction: - Expecting significant rainfall and thunderstorms over the weekend

This weekend in Germany will feature partial summer weather. Some areas may endure heavy rainstorms, according to meteorologist Tanja Egerer of the German Weather Service in Offenbach. However, there are still certain uncertainties regarding this. What's for sure? It's going to be stormy in the south.

Tanja predicts strong thunderstorms and heavy showers across regions south of the Danube from now through next weekend. But these events will be localized. On Sunday and Monday, there's a growing potential for widespread heavy rainfall. This, however, doesn't seem to compare to the weather trouble we saw last weekend.

On the horizon for Friday, you can expect to see a meteorologically similar day to today's Thursday. In the north, showers will sprinkle around and temperatures will fluctuate between 15 and 20 degrees. The south may also experience rain showers, as per the DWD forecast. Elsewhere between these two regions, the sky will show a mix of cloudy and sunny conditions, largely remaining dry. Temperatures in this area will hover between 20 and 24 degrees, while the southern region will feel more like summertime with temperatures of 24 to 26 degrees.

On Saturday, the DWD anticipates many clouds, showery rain in the north, and strong thunderstorms in the south, coupled with heavy rain and local weather events. The "in-between" areas (north of the Main) will see a mix of sun and clouds, remaining dry. Temperatures will vary from 16 to 20 degrees in the northwest and 20 to 26 degrees elsewhere.

On Sunday, the sky will be either cloudy or heavily overcast with showers and thunderstorms in the south, accompanied by possible heavy rain and local weather events. However, up north, it'll mainly be cool with temperatures between 15 to 20 degrees. Elsewhere, expect comfortable temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees.
