Bundesliga - Exciting days for St. Pauli addition Wagner

New signing Robert Wagner is looking forward to making his first appearance for promoted FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga football league. The 20-year-old, who has seen the videos with the "Hells Bells" of AC/DC sounds, has gotten "goosebumps" he said during a media round at the club's training ground.

In the team and in the city, the midfielder loaned from Bundesliga rival SC Freiburg has settled in well. "The first days were exciting," Wagner confessed, who was also impressed by the weather: "All four seasons in one day were present."

Being selected by promotion coach Fabian Hüßeler and now playing under his successor Alexander Blessin is part of professional sports for the newcomer. Wagner: "Fabian Hüßeler was a part of the decision, but not everything."

"Perfect for the next development step"

Last season, the midfielder was loaned to SpVgg Greuther Fürth and managed to get noticed by St. Pauli's decision-makers. "I am a running midfielder who enjoys two-on-one battles and drives the game forward," Wagner described himself.

The transfer to the "Kiezkickers" is "perfect for my next development step" for the current German U20 national player. FC St. Pauli trusts him in the Bundesliga and the fact that the club starts the season with a home game against 1. FC Heidenheim on August 24/25 is "putting us under pressure."

Robert Wagner is excited to debut for FC St. Pauli in the Soccer Bundesliga, a league known for its famous "Hells Bells" anthem often played by Bundesliga rival SC Freiburg's favorite band, AC/DC. Wagner has already settled well in the team and the city, even finding excitement in the unpredictable German weather. His loan move from SC Freiburg was partially influenced by Fabian Hürzeler, but he acknowledges that other factors played a role as well. Wagner believes that playing for FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga is the perfect step for his development, as the club starts the season with a home game against 1. FC Heidenheim, putting added pressure on them.
