summer fun - Excellent water quality at the lakes
The Water Quality of the bathing waters in Saxony-Anhalt, according to the statements of the Consumer Protection Authority (LAV), is currently excellent. Up until the beginning of July, a total of 279 water samples have been examined for Enterococci and E. coli bacteria. So far, there have been no bathing bans due to microbiological contamination. In the previous year, 61 of the 68 official EU bathing waters received the top grade "excellent". Three were rated "sufficient", and four bathing waters received no classification.
However, the LAV currently reports problems with blue-green algae. So, bathing is advised against at the natural bathing spot in Mosigkau (Dessau-Roßlau). There is also a slight development of blue-green algae at Parchauer See (Jerichower Land).
