In the city of Herford, situated in east-westphalia, there's been a belief that a woman was brutally assaulted by multiple individuals following a night out at a local disco. The authorities are currently looking into the matter, and two of the supposed culprits are already detained.
As reported by a public prosecutor's office spokesperson based in Bielefeld, a total of seven individuals, including six men and one woman, are under investigation in relation to this incident. The incident is said to have occurred in a car park adjacent to the disco on the night of August 24th. The victim, a minor hailing from the Münsterland region, has yet to have her exact age disclosed. Earlier reports claimed she was 18 years old.
The investigation involves seven suspects residing in the Minden-Lübbecke district. Of these, five are minors, one an adult, and one a juvenile. Two of the suspects, both Iraqis, have already been detained by the authorities. The remaining four are German, with one individual holding German-Syrian nationality.
The authorities have executed multiple search warrants, with evidence and traces being compiled from the searches. These pieces of information are currently being evaluated. According to various media outlets, this took place at the beginning of September, with several apartments being searched and evidence secured.
The assault is believed to have taken place in the early hours following a night of partying at the disco. The "Westfalen-Blatt" reported that the 18-year-old woman was celebrating at the disco. There's a possibility that she was drugged with GHB by the suspected assailants. The suspects are suspected to have been identified through surveillance cameras.
