Before the planned defusing of a bomber bomb in the Braunsbedra township of Krumpa in the Saalekreis, the police began evacuation measures. The officers went through the streets, asking people to leave their houses, a spokeswoman for the district confirmed in response to an inquiry. Among the residents were also people in need of care, who were to be taken to a shelter.

The defusing of the 250 kilograms heavy bomb from the Second World War is scheduled for approximately 10:00 AM on Wednesday. It was reportedly found during a routine search before planned construction works on a field. Several streets were to be evacuated prior to the defusing, according to the district. A kindergarten remained closed. The sports hall in Krumpa was designated as a shelter.

The historically significant discovery of an aerial bomb from the Second World War in the Saale district has led to the consequences of war resurfacing. The emergency situation necessitated immediate evacuation measures, involving not only residential areas but also a kindergarten.
