Eurowings-Aircraft must make an emergency landing in Berlin

A plane en route to Manchester had to abort the flight after takeoff from Berlin airport. The reasons are unclear.

Air Safety - Eurowings-Aircraft must make an emergency landing in Berlin

A Flight of Airline Eurowings from Berlin to Manchester was cancelled shortly after take-off. The plane returned to the airport and made an emergency landing, a spokeswoman of Berlin-Brandenburg Airport stated. The passengers reportedly disembarked the aircraft via the stairs after landing, with the airport fire department taking over.

The spokeswoman initially made no comments regarding the reason for the emergency landing.

The flight was scheduled to depart from Schönefeld scene field in Brandenburg, located in Germany. The incident caused temporary disruptions in Berlin's air traffic. The passengers were safely evacuated and transferred to a different flight for their onward journey to Manchester. Investigations into the cause of the emergency landing are currently underway by air safety authorities in Germany.
