EU voters exhibit increased Euroskepticism, according to Weidel.

The leader of Germany's Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Alice Weidel, is ecstatic about her party's performance in the recent European elections. She proudly announced that according to preliminary results, the AfD is now the second most powerful force in the country. Weidel claims her party had a strong final push despite a rocky start during the campaign season.

In comparison to 2019, when they received 11% of the votes, the AfD has significantly increased their support in these elections. Weidel attributes this growth to an overall increase in skepticism towards Europe among voters. They are now considered the strongest political force in eastern Germany.

When questioned about Maximilian Krah, the AfD's lead candidate, and Petr Bystron, who was elected as their second candidate, Weidel remained silent. They have both been making headlines due to connections with potential pro-Russian networks. Media reports suggest that investigations are taking place into potential financial transactions involving both politicians. Additionally, an employee of Krah's was recently arrested for allegedly spying for China.
