EU arms companies agree on alliance to build land defense systems
European defense companies Rheinmetall and Leonardo have understood a strategic partnership for building land defense systems.
The first goal of the alliance is the production of tanks for the Italian army, Leonardo announced on a Wednesday. The technologies should, however, also be used for European projects and suitable for international export.
Following their strategic partnership, Rheinmetall and Leonardo are set to construct advanced land defense systems for various European countries. This collaboration between EU arms manufacturers is expected to strengthen the joint production of tanks, as per Leonardo's announcement. Moreover, the technologies developed from this alliance are intended to be applicable in numerous European projects and are suitable for international export, thereby bolstering global defense capabilities.
