Emergency services and counselors provide aid to Ariana's parents
Over a span of two months, the family of Arian has been engulfed in distress. Extensive searches haven't located the six-year-old boy. It's seemingly likely that the corpse discovered in Northern Niedersachsen belongs to Arian from Bremervörde. As the autopsy unfolds, the parents of the vanished child are being looked after by police officers.
The police are maintaining constant contact with Arian's parents after the identification of a child's body in the northern region of Niedersachsen. The parents were informed by the police, as confirmed by a police spokesperson. "We want the parents to be made aware of this officially and to receive proper care." The family is reportedly receiving close support from both male and female officers. "The contact has been intense," the spokesperson added. Apart from police support, there are other professional assistance offers, such as from crisis counselors and support groups.
A farmer discovered the deceased child in the afternoon on a field in Estorf, Landkreis Stade. The investigators believe it is highly probable that it is the six-year-old Arian from Bremervörde who has been missing since April. Medical professionals in Hamburg will establish the child's identity. A conclusion is expected within the week, after which more precise information will be available.
Arian went missing on April 22. The police believed the autistic child had left his home independently and started an extensive search. He was not found for over two months. Search parties reportedly checked the area where the body was found on various occasions, according to the police.
A 54-year-old farmer, who came across the body while plowing, suspects it is Arian. This supposition hasn't been verified. "My colleague saw something and said, 'There's something there,'" the farmer said. "I immediately recognized it as him," said the man, who, according to a report, looked shocked. He claimed to have noticed an upper part that Arian was supposed to be wearing. "That's quite a bit, really."
Shock over the location
The farmer showed surprise that the body hadn't been found earlier. The man stated that the area had been searched by investigators before. "They were everywhere," the farmer said. "The first thing I told the police was: Why didn't you find him?" The grass was not particularly high in April, the farmer estimates, at most ten centimeters.
Another resident also expressed surprise that the body hadn't been found earlier. "The boy wouldn't have been there for such a long time, that's simply impossible," the man said. He wonders if the body wasn't placed on the field. "That's hard to believe." The police report no evidence of a crime at this time.
