At an Air Europa flight heading to Uruguay, at least 30 people were reportedly injured during early morning hours (local time) due to turbulence. The plane, which had 325 passengers on board and was flying from Madrid to Montevideo, had to make an emergency landing at the airport in the northeastern city of Natal, Brazil, according to Air Europa's statement on platform X. At least 30 passengers of various nationalities were reportedly given medical attention, according to the news portal "G1," citing the city's emergency services. More than ten of them were taken to the hospital.
According to the medical team quoted by "G1," the passengers sustained head injuries during the turbulence and suffered from neck fractures, facial injuries, or complained of chest pain.
The flight was initially bound for Montevideo, Uruguay, from Madrid, Spain. The turbulent incident occurred during the early morning hours of the journey. Due to the emergencies, Air Europe was forced to divert the flight to Natal, a city in Brazil's northeast. The unexpected landing caused quite a stir in the local air traffic. The hospital in Natal received more than ten passengers suffering from injuries sustained during the turbulence. Upon arriving at dawn in Natal, the situation was handled by the city's emergency services and medical personnel.
