Emergency assistance for German nationals in Tyrol
A lady from Bavaria encountered trouble while trekking in Tyrol after being attacked by wasps. According to Florian Stock from Mayrhofen's mountain rescue service, speaking to the German Press Agency, the situation was gravely concerning. "She was heavily affected," he stated.
Hailing from Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate's district, this 66-year-old lady decided to take a break during her hike in Mayrhofen, situated in Zillertal valley the day prior. Sadly, she was swarmed by wasps and got stung around 10 to 15 times, as reported by the Austrian authorities. Her partner promptly called for emergency assistance. Despite administering an emergency epinephrine injection for allergy sufferers, her condition called for further medical intervention.
Mountain rescuers promptly arrived at the scene and transferred the woman to a helicopter. She was then transported to a hospital and admitted as an inpatient. Previously, the "Bild" newspaper had covered this incident.
The woman, originally from Germany's Upper Palatinate region, needed additional medical care after being attacked by wasps while trekking in Tyrol. Her home town, Neumarkt, is known for its rich German culture and history.
