Auction - Elvis' shoes auctioned off for a good 140,000 euros
"Blue Suede Shoes," a title of one of Elvis Presley's most famous songs that contributed to his advancement as the King of Rock'n'Roll, were sold at an auction in England for 120,000 Pfund (approximately 140,000 Euro). The hammer price was 95,000 Pfund. Additional fees and VAT were added.

Leading Elvis expert verified their authenticity.

According to the English auction house Henry Aldridge & Son, Elvis bought the shoes after he had covered the song. The authenticity was then confirmed by leading Elvis expert Jimmy Velvet.
Elvis wore the shoes for a television appearance
"They are as iconic as it gets," auctioneer Andrew Aldridge told the British Press Association. "They are simply an extraordinary part of showbusiness, music, and popular culture," Aldridge added.
Elvis gave the shoes as a gift to a friend just before he was drafted into the military, according to the auction house's website.
Elvis wore them for a television appearance in the 50s, during which he even jokingly mentioned them. "I think I've got something on that doesn't quite go with the evening dress," Elvis, dressed in a tuxedo, said in a small talk with show host Steve Allen and added, "Blue suede shoes."
