Elon Musk predicts that artificial intelligence will replace all human jobs in the future.

"In a tech conference on Thursday, Elon Musk stated that it's possible that none of us will have jobs in the future. He was speaking virtually at VivaTech 2024 in Paris and described a future where work is 'optional.' People would only have jobs if they want them to be like a hobby. If not, AI and robots can provide any goods and services that we need. To make this scenario possible, there would need to be 'universal high income,'," Musk said.

"There would be no lack of goods or services in this future landscape," said Musk.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been progressing at an incredible pace, making it difficult for regulators, companies, and consumers to understand how to use the technology in a responsible manner. There are also growing concerns about how certain industries and jobs will be impacted as AI becomes more and more prevalent.

In January, a study by researchers at MIT found that workplaces are adopting AI at a much slower rate than anticipated. Also, many jobs that were considered vulnerable to AI were not economically beneficial for employers to automate at that time.

Many people believe that jobs that require high levels of emotional intelligence and human interaction will not be replaced by AI. For instance, mental health professionals, creative individuals, and teachers remain in demand.

Musk has been expressing his worries about AI for a long time. During his address on Thursday, he named AI as his primary fear. He drew attention to the 'Culture Book Series' by Ian Banks, which is a utopian view of a society run by advanced technology, as the most realistic visualization of a future AI.

In a future where there are no jobs, Musk wondered if people would find meaning in their lives.

"The real question will be about purpose - if the computer and robots can do everything better than humanity, do you have a purpose in life?" he asked. "I do think there could still be a need for humans in this - perhaps we'll assign AI meaning."

Moreover, Musk implored parents to curb the amount of time children spend on social media since they are being trained by an AI designed to maximize dopamine.

In this tech-driven future predicted by Musk, businesses may need to adapt and find new ways to thrive, as AI and automation potentially replace traditional job roles. With the rapid advancement of AI, it becomes crucial for businesses to ethically integrate and utilize this technology in their operations.
