Elon Musk interferes with the US election campaign by spreading false information

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is accused of meddling in the U.S. election, according to a study by online experts. He's been spreading a multitude of misinformation, gaining massive attention with these misleading posts on his platform, X. Musk's misleading messages have been viewed nearly 1.2 billion times this year, according to a report by the non-profit organization Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH). Musk, a supporter of former U.S. President and current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, has over 193 million followers on X (formerly Twitter).

The CCDH identified 50 X posts by Musk since January containing claims debunked by independent fact-checkers. Musk has claimed that U.S. Democrats intentionally promote irregular immigration to gain voters, and that the U.S. election system is vulnerable to fraud.

Last week, Musk faced heavy criticism for sharing a manipulated AI video of Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris. In the video, Harris was made to say that 81-year-old President Joe Biden is senile and that she is the "ultimate diversity hire," suggesting she got her position due to her ethnic identity as the daughter of an Indian mother and a black Jamaican father, not her qualifications.

The study by online experts, which accused Tech billionaire Elon Musk of meddling in the U.S. election, also highlighted 50 X posts by Musk containing debunked claims. The CCDH report revealed that Musk's manipulated AI video of Kamala Harris was one of the misleading messages that gained massive attention.
