Ellen von Unwerth's "Heimat": Whimsical and Lighthearted

In soaring heights, upon mountain peaks, images overflow of scantily-clad ladies - a price paid dearly in this lavish pictorial book. Swear it!

Amidst breathtaking landscapes, lush forests, crystalline lakes, and snow-capped peaks that mountains are known for, stunning women frolic in various clothing, ranging from conventional to nonexistent. Their activities vary from fishing, hunting, milking, to posing decoratively - alone or in groups - in the picturesque settings. With a lewd grin, one can't help but think, "Why, you Minx! Where are we, the liberation movement?" if you're not immediately intrigued by this provocative, 452-page, heavyweight pictorial from Taschen Publishing.

Renowned photographer, Ellen von Unwerth, delved into the world where bells ring in the alpine pastures, where lives in harmony with nature.

In this untamed realm, reside Hilda, Traudl, Heidi, and their pals, living the serene country life. Admittedly, one doesn't often encounter such stunning women in the mountains, but the photographer captured their essence - in moments of fun and illicit passion.

Erotica, Passion, Games

This idyllic and cheeky adventure is a playground for the senses, with words by Mark Schulz, who adores mountains and extravagant beauty. His writing is loaded with innuendo, telling us, "Never part a woman from her hen's den," or, "The locals always extend a helping hand." Indeed, it's about sensuality, passion, and play.

Von Unwerth, who began her career as a model before pursuing photography a decade later, has kept her models' identities unknown. Every photo projects an air of confidence and carefree pleasure, as if the fun never stopped once the camera turned off.

Dirndl Delight

Curious about what the enchanting "countrymen" wear? Lola Paltinger, a Munich-based designer, provides the answer: every woman can own an extraordinary Dirndl. Since 1999, the talented Paltinger has been combining traditional German ethnic garb with Glamour, Couture, and exquisite details. Her fame and celebrity clientele extend as far as Hollywood.

A magnet in front of and behind the camera: Ellen von Unwerth.

With their voluminous textures, intricate details, and sometimes absurd interpretations of traditional clothing, these Dirndls are drenched in a playful Romance, Freshness, and Joy of Life, mirroring Ellen von Unwerth's depictions in her Bavarian Dreamland.

Paltinger, the designer, thus regards von Unwerth as one of her favorite photographers, stating, "She truly has her own style. I am captivated by her aesthetics and her compositions."

Not much else to say; just that men also make an appearance, and they're not bad to look at, and that one can't help but plan their next mountain escape.

Whether the genuine farmers and citizens of the mountains agree with the cheeky titles of the chapters, such as "Laborious, but honest work" or "Fits particularly well in the mountains," in relation to the Unwerth photos is left to the imagination.

We can do it! We believe it right away!

For "urban dweller" and all other "flatland Tyroleans" with a touch of nostalgia for their roots and the peculiar allure, this pictorial book is a tantalizing treat.
