Hamburg - Elbe tunnel closed: Truck has caught fire

Due to a burning truck, the Hamburg Elbtunnel is closed. "Both directions in all four tubes are currently closed," a spokesperson for the traffic control center said. There are long traffic jams. "We already have good ten kilometers on both sides." The truck has been put out since then, but the work of the fire department is still ongoing. Cars should try to avoid the area as much as possible.

More about that briefly here at stern.

The Hamburg fire department is currently involved in a large-scale operation to manage the smoke development caused by the burning truck in the Elbe tunnel. The police are assisting in managing the traffic jams, which have extended for over 20 kilometers on both sides of the tunnel. The truck, despite being extinguished, remains a concern for the fire department as they work to ensure its complete removal and the safety of the tunnel. Motorists are advised to avoid the area to minimize disruption.
