Processes - Eight years for a fatal stab against an ex-girlfriend requested
For the death of a 17-year-old after being stabbed in Kiel, the Prosecutor's Office demands eight years of juvenile detention for the accused ex-boyfriend. In its plea on Monday, the Prosecutor's Office requested a conviction for manslaughter in conjunction with kidnapping resulting in death, driving without a license, as well as dangerous bodily harm and threats, as a court spokesperson announced. The co-plaintiff has joined the application.
Since May, the 20-year-old must answer for the death of the young woman at the Regional Court in October 2023. However, the defense, according to the court spokesperson, assumes that the defendant had no intent to kill. They did not file a specific counter-application.
The events of October 2023
During the first trial day, a video recording of the interrogation at the detention center after the crime, shown by the Regional Court, had the German admit that he had killed his girlfriend with a knife. "I didn't want to do anything to her, never," he said in the video recording. "I didn't want what happened to happen, but I'm here for it." Previous statements from the Prosecutor's Office indicate that the man had already come to the attention of the authorities for criminal offenses before.
In the lengthy interrogation, the defendant described the sequence of events. His ex-girlfriend had maintained a close relationship with a former friend, which had hurt him. The 17-year-old and he had therefore agreed to take a break from their relationship. On the day of the incident, they had met each other at the main train station. They had driven to the home of his mother with the car of another acquaintance to talk. However, it led to an argument. The 20-year-old admitted to shooting at both his ex-girlfriend and the former friend with a shock pistol in the apartment.
Accident in the city center
The situation then shifted to the street, where the fourth person had been waiting in his car, the defendant said. He had taken the car keys from the man and forced the 17-year-old to drive alone with him in this car. He wanted to talk to her peacefully somewhere. During the ride, he held a knife in his hand. When his girlfriend refused to stop screaming, he wanted to hit her. "I wanted to hit her to make her shut up. I stabbed her with the knife, which I didn't want to do", the defendant stammered and tearfully. When he noticed that his girlfriend was seriously injured, he only wanted to take her to the hospital to save her life.
He drove at high speed and recklessly through the city center and collided with another car at a red light. Emergency services tried to revive the 17-year-old, but she died later in the hospital. The stab wound had pierced her heart. The driver and passenger in the second car were injured, as was the defendant.
The judgment in this trial is to be pronounced on Monday (13:00).
