Ice hockey - EHC Red Bull loans backup goalkeeper Allavena to Weiden

The EHC Red Bull Munchen loans goalkeeper Daniel Allavena to the Blue Devils Weiden. As the four-time German ice hockey champion announced, the 24-year-old will gain playing experience in the coming season with the DEL2 team. Allavena has been under contract with the Munich team since 2020. In the previous season, he appeared in twelve games in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) behind starting goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger.

"I have set myself high athletic goals and want to reach the playoffs with the Blue Devils. I am ambitious and hardworking and want to play as many games as possible to collect more experience and continue developing through hard work," explained Allavena.

Allavena's loan move is a chance for him to gain experience in a different league, as he joins the DEL2 team Blue Devils Weiden from Bavaria, where Red Bull Munchen is based. Despite being under contract with EHC Red Bull Munchen since 2020, the German goalkeeper will now be playing his ice hockey in Munich's second tier. With Red Bull Munchen focusing on their transfers for the upcoming season, this opportunity for Allavena to showcase his skills in a new environment is beneficial for both parties.
