Ecoflow unveils energy solution aimed at enhanced energy autonomy
For individuals looking to power their homes with solar energy, store excess electricity, heat their homes, and charge their electric vehicles, Ecoflow now offers a comprehensive and affordable solution with their new Home Energy Ecosystem. If solar power production isn't enough, collaboration with Tibber can help minimize costs.
The demand for energy solutions that can power all domestic appliances, including electric vehicle charging stations and heat pumps, using self-generated solar power, is growing. At the Intersolar fair in Munich, several companies showcased complete solutions, one of which is Ecoflow's new Home Energy Ecosystem.
This system consists of a modular solar system (PowerOcean), which can be integrated with existing systems without requiring new converters. There's an air-water heat pump (PowerHeat) and a smart heating rod that generates hot water with excess energy. A charging station for electric vehicles (PowerPulse) and smart components like thermostats and sockets complete the system, making it adaptable to various needs.
PowerOcean Plus for optimal space utilization
A new addition is PowerOcean Plus, which offers a peak alternating current power (AC power) of 29.9 kilowatts (kW) and supports a battery capacity of up to 60 kilowatt-hours (kWh). The integrated converter of the storage system can accept up to four PV strings and delivers a maximum PV power of 40 kW. According to Ecoflow, it's also suitable for complex roof constructions and aims to maximize space utilization. An integrated Smart Meter is said to reduce installation time for electricians by up to 40%.
Each Lithium-Iron Phosphate battery pack (LFP) includes a fire safety module, an aluminum housing that is dust and water resistant according to IP65, and a battery management system (BMS) that ensures safety, fire resistance, and mechanical durability. Ecoflow offers a 15-year warranty for the PowerOcean-LFP batteries and the App.
Keeping track with Energy Monitor and App
To help users keep track, there's an Energy Monitor (PowerInsight) and the Ecoflow Webportal. With these, users can monitor consumption and optimize system performance.
Users also have a comprehensive App at their disposal, which allows them to manage and control all components. At the Intersolar, Ecoflow demonstrated additional features of the application: The energy allocation configures the solar-storage system based on energy conditions automatically. The tariff forecast helps users buy energy at the lowest possible price.
Dynamic electricity tariffs with Tibber
For this purpose, Ecoflow has partnered with the Norwegian energy supplier Tibber, who also provide real-time electricity in Germany at current stock exchange prices. By connecting PowerOcean series with dynamic tariffs, users can benefit from fluctuating electricity prices by purchasing or consuming energy when it's most cost-effective.
Additional features will be added "soon." This includes the "Smart Battery Plan." It's designed to adjust daily to predicted energy prices and solar production. Users will be able to customize their energy management according to their needs with battery modes like "Self-consumption" and "Production." The app also offers 24/7 monitoring and control functions with real-time warnings and constant energy status updates for optimizing electricity consumption.
Ecoflow's energy products are already available in Germany, and PowerOcean Plus can be ordered from October. Detailed offers can be found on the Ecoflow website.
