E.ON and Liquid Wind want to develop eFuel systems

Uniper, the energy company, and Swedish firm Liquid Wind aim to accelerate the development of eFuel-plants for producing fossil-free eMethanol. The companies announced a strategic partnership, Uniper stated. The partners aim to explore collaboration opportunities in plant development, power supply, and eMethanol off-take.

Uniper emphasized that the company considers large-scale eFuel-plant production essential for the ongoing transformation towards a carbon-neutral society.

eMethanol can be used in shipping, for instance, which is responsible for a significant portion of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Uniper's pursuit of a carbon-neutral society extends beyond the eFuel-plants, as they aim to utilize CO-free technology during the production process.

The strategic partnership between Uniper and Liquid Wind is not limited to eMethanol production, as they also plan to incorporate wind energy for the plants' power supply.

The goal of this EON-spanning collaboration is to create a society that relies more on eFuel-derived energy sources, potentially reducing reliance on fossil fuels in various sectors, such as transportation.
