During a flight from Rome to Perth, the cargo compartment of a Boeing aircraft was punctured by some tire components.

Passengers and staff aboard a Qantas jet heading from Rome to Perth endured an unexpected 16-hour journey with a banged-up wing. The Australian aviation company reveals this happened on August 24th, en route from Rome to the western coast of Australia.

Investigations revealed that during the Boeing 787 Dreamliner's takeoff, a piece of one of the tires broke off, causing harm to the underside of the right wing.

It wasn't until the plane landed in Perth, following a 16-hour journey, that the crew spotted the damage to the tire and wing. "We're sorry for the hassle our passengers had to go through and appreciate their patience," a Qantas representative commented.

The piece of torn tire led to significant damage on the underside of the right wing. Due to the damage, the flight experienced an extended journey of 16 hours before safely landing in Perth.
