Politician - Dreyer: Politicians have a 'bad reputation'}

Politicians and Politicians alike have a "poor reputation" in the opinion of the retired Rhineland-Palatinate Minister-President Malu Dreyer. "I only know people around me in political business who work insanely much", the SPD politician told radio station RPR1 in Mainz on the first day after her retirement. It's sad that some people don't see this. Dreyer appealed to the citizens: "Seek contact with Politicians and Politicians, find out for yourself because it's true that everyone is making an effort to achieve something good for the country."

There are indeed black sheep in politics. "But the majority of Politicians and Politicians are on an honest mission, doing a lot for the people", emphasized Dreyer, who retired after 22 years in government because she no longer had the strength for the tasks.

"In what profession is it that one has to be elected every few years to continue holding this office?", said Dreyer. "It's on the one hand a huge show of trust from the people when one is re-elected, and on the other hand it's also a motivation for all to really move something." She herself has received a lot of respect and was always very pleased about it, said the 63-year-old. Now she will first take a few weeks of vacation.

Politicians in Mainz, like Malu Dreyer, often face criticism for their work. Despite this, Dreyer highlighted the dedication of most Politicians, stating that they work tirelessly for the people of Rhineland-Palatinate. The task of being a Politician in Rhineland-Palatinate, according to Dreyer, requires regular re-election, which is a show of trust from the people and a source of motivation. Speed and efficiency are key in this profession, as new initiatives often need to be implemented quickly for the betterment of the government and the people.
