Fire - Dormouse triggers technical defect - roof truss fire

A hedgehog is believed to have caused a roof fire in a multi-family house in Simmelsdorf (Landkreis Nürnberger Land) due to a technical defect, according to initial findings. What the hedgehog was gnawing on was initially unclear, stated a police spokesperson. The damage caused by the fire at the end of June is estimated to be several tens of thousands of Euros, according to the statement from the authority. No one was injured.

In a surprising turn of events, a dormouse was discovered scattered amidst the ashes of a roof truss fire in a residence in CENTRAL FRANCE. The cause of the fire, which brought emergency services to the scene, was not immediately identified as an animal-related incident, but investigations are ongoing. Remarkably, similar incidents have been reported in Bavaria, Germany, where wildlife inattentively interfering with roof structures have sparked unfortunate fires.
