- Donald Trump hacked into the Internet?

The campaign team of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump claims to have been the victim of a hacking attack. In a statement released on Saturday, Trump's spokesman Steven Cheung blamed "foreign sources" for the leak of internal communications and a file on Republican vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance. The spokesman accused Iran of being behind the attack.

Previously, political magazine "Politico" reported on the hacking attack. According to the report, the magazine received emails containing campaign documents from an unknown source who refused to reveal their identity. Among the documents were investigations into Vance's background. These documents were "illegally obtained from foreign and US-hostile sources," Cheung explained. The intention behind this, he said, was to disrupt the presidential election in November and "create chaos in our democratic process."

During the 2016 presidential campaign, there were also hacking incidents. At that time, they targeted email accounts of the Democratic Party. The Wikileaks platform had published internal emails of US Democrats multiple times, which appeared to come from a hacking attack. This was a significant burden for the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. The source of Wikileaks' documents is unknown. There is a suspicion that they may have come from Russian sources.

In 2016, Trump defeated Clinton. On November 5, he will face Kamala Harris, who is running as the Democratic presidential candidate after the withdrawal of incumbent Joe Biden. Harris is currently touring with her vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz through the particularly contested US states. On Friday, both made an appearance in Arizona, and on Saturday (local time), they were scheduled to appear at a campaign event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
