They could no longer proceed as weather conditions had deteriorated and new snowfall had accumulated roughly 2500 meters above sea level, approximately 900 meters from the Sonnalpin. Along with Augsburg, districts of Günzburg and Aichach-Friedberg have now labelled the disaster an emergency situation as well.

Meanwhile, the Meckenbeuren flood situation at the Schussen river keeps getting worse. Spokespersons from the town estimated the river level at noon to be 4.72 meters, roughly double its normal depth. The height surpasses the previous 2021 flood peak, which stood at 4.50 meters. However, there's hope that the worst of the flooding is yet to come. Municipality officials also issued a warning to approximately 1300 locals to evacuate their homes on Friday, although most of them found shelter with friends or family. A small number of people opted to seek protection at the designated emergency shelter. Consequently, the town's schools, kindergartens, and community spaces were cleared out in advance to prevent any potential flood damage. Also, bridges in the municipality of 14,000 inhabitants were closed for safety measures.
