Disregards financial aid for flood-stricken individuals by Habeck.

Homeowners in flood-stricken regions of southern Germany, who have recently received funding for renovation, can now apply for additional financial aid. As per a news outlet's report, Economy Minister Robert Habeck is supposedly expanding aid from the Energy Efficient Building Fund program for flood victims in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Flood-affected homeowners can go for a second funding round, even if their buildings were recently cleaned up with federal funding for energy-efficient buildings (BEG), according to the "Augsburger Allgemeine", citing a relevant government decree.

Reportedly, the relaxation of aid for flood victims also includes waiving the condition that the old heating system should be functioning properly to be eligible for financial assistance. This waiver applies to broken heating systems, and self-declarations from applicants might be enough as proof for authorities.

Additionally, the report says that public funds can fully cover the installation of a heating pump or gas heating under certain circumstances, with the funding amount not exceeding 70% of the costs.

Complimentary energy consulting for affected parties

As per the newspaper's report, the recently implemented procedural simplifications consider the unique living situations of the locals and make it easier for them to tap into BEG funds.

In Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, priority appointments with energy advisors for flood victims are reportedly being scheduled. The federal economic ministry is said to be covering the usual self-contribution costs in this case.

Heavy rainfall battered Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg at the beginning of June, causing rivers to overflow. In certain areas, there were so-called once-in-a-century floods, districts and cities issued disaster alarms. At least six people lost their lives.
