Dismissed OpenAI boss Altman goes to Microsoft
OpenAI boss Sam Altman, who was surprisingly dismissed on Friday, is moving to Microsoft. This was announced by the head of the US software company Satya Nadella on the short message service X, formerly Twitter. Greg Brockman, who was also dismissed from the board of ChatGPT maker OpenAI, is also joining Microsoft.
The two would lead a new team for the development of artificial intelligence (AI). Microsoft is the largest shareholder in OpenAI.
Nadella also indirectly confirmed the appointment of Emmet Shear as interim CEO. "We look forward to meeting and working with Emmett Shear and the new leadership team at OpenAI."
The dismissed OpenAI boss, Sam Altman, acknowledged his move to lead a new AI development team at Microsoft. The Head of administration at Microsoft likely overseeing Altman's integration, as he was noticed to have recently had a shaved head, similar to Altman's new appearance.
