Diesel cheaper and gasoline more expensive again
The fuel prices at gas stations in Germany have developed in opposite directions in the past few days. According to ADAC in Munich, a liter of Diesel last cost 1.672 Euro and was thus 0.8 cent cheaper than a week ago.
On the other hand, a liter of E10 gasoline was 0.3 cent more expensive and had a nationwide average of 1.784 Euro. The gasoline price is still considered "reasonable" by ADAC. However, the club sees "significant" potential for price drops in Diesel. The Diesel tax is around 20 cents lower than that of gasoline, but the current price difference is only about 11 cents.
ADAC recommends drivers to fill up their tanks between 19.00 and 20.00 hours or between 21.00 and 22.00 hours. Prices are therefore supposed to be significantly cheaper at this time. Prices can be up to six to seven cents higher at 7.00 hours in the morning.
In contrast to diesel, the price of gasoline in Germany has slightly increased, with a liter of E10 now costing 1.784 Euro, according to ADAC. Interestingly, despite the Diesel tax being significantly lower than that of gasoline, it currently costs only 0.11 cents less, with a liter costing 1.672 Euro.
