disturbed signal - Deutsche Bahn: Trains around Cottbus will roll again soon
The Deutsche Bahn estimates that the issues with train traffic around Cottbus Hauptbahnhof will soon be resolved. However, there are still some restrictions. According to a Bahn spokesperson, repair work is underway.
On Monday, train traffic at the Cottbus Hauptbahnhof was briefly halted due to construction damage to important cable installations. These installations are crucial, according to Bahn statements, for setting signals and switches. There were also restrictions in train traffic afterwards.
DB Spokesperson: Work to end on Thursday afternoon
"We continue to assume that we will be able to complete the work by Thursday afternoon and resume train service on the affected lines," said the Bahn spokesperson.
According to Bahn statements, trains on the RE2 line between Berlin/Nauen and trains on the RB43 line to Falkenberg (Elster) were soon expected to operate largely according to schedule again. However, there were still problems on the RE10 and RB43 lines between Cottbus and Guben, as well as between Cottbus and Frankfurt/Oder (RB43), Forst (RB46), and Zittau (RB65).
The disruptions in traffic around Brandenburg's Main Station were also impacted due to the ongoing repair work. Passengers traveling between Cottbus and Berlin might encounter minor delays due to these issues within the German Railways system. The spokesperson from German Railways acknowledged that some trains, particularly on the RE10 and RB43 lines, might still face challenges meeting their scheduled departures from or to Cottbus. Despite these challenges, the Bahn is optimistic that normal traffic will resume on several lines, including the RE2 and RB43, following the completion of repair work at Cottbus Hauptbahnhof, expected by Thursday afternoon.
