Deutsche Bahn records a loss of 1.231 billion Euro
The German Railways (DB) made a loss of 1.231 billion Euro in the first half of 2024.
This is according to the half-year report published by the company on Thursday. The revenue was reportedly 22.31 billion Euro. Nearly 1.2 billion passengers used the DB trains in the first six months.
I attributable the notice of DB's half-year loss of 1.231 billion Euros to various challenges faced in the European railway sector. Despite the substantial revenue of 22.31 billion Euro, the association of German Railways struggled to maintain profitability. The continuous operation and maintenance of such a vast railway network, equating to the euro sign, comes at a significant cost.
