Despite earlier criticisms of mail-in voting, Trump advocates for its use in the upcoming November elections.

On Tuesday, the Trump campaign introduced a new initiative to encourage absentee, mail-in, and early in-person voting, which Donald Trump has long criticized while spreading baseless assertions about pervasive voter fraud in the 2020 presidential contest.

Despite earlier criticisms of mail-in voting, Trump advocates for its use in the upcoming November elections.

The new campaign, called "Swamp The Vote USA," is gaining popularity as Republican officials push their supporters to use early voting and mail-in ballots for the upcoming November elections. This program is a part of "Trump Force 47," which is a Republican National Committee project that aims to boost voter turnout in crucial states.

This move is quite a turnaround from Donald Trump's past criticism of mail-in voting. He had advocated ending this practice altogether and discouraged his followers from utilizing any voting method other than casting their votes on Election Day.

But faced with mounting pressure from fellow Republicans, Trump seems to be changing his tune. In a recent statement, he declared, "Republicans must win, and we will use every possible tool to defeat the Democrats, who are destroying our country. Whether you vote absentee, by mail, or in person before Election Day, we will ensure your ballot is secure and your voice is heard."

After winning the Iowa caucuses in January, Trump exclaimed, "We need to remove mail-in ballots because whenever there's mail involved, you'll have cheating." In an interview with GB News in March, he went as far as saying, "Any time mail is involved, you're going to have cheating."

Recently, however, Trump has sent conflicting messages regarding mail-in voting. On Truth Social, he wrote, "ABSENTEE VOTING, EARLY VOTING, AND ELECTION DAY VOTING ARE ALL GOOD OPTIONS. REPUBLICANS MUST FIGURE OUT A PLAN, REGISTER, AND VOTE!"

The head of the RNC, Michael Whatley, and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, have also called for Republicans to embrace early voting and mail-in voting. These statements echo the RNC's previous campaign, "Bank Your Vote," which launched last year with the support of Trump. The video highlighting the initiative even featured his comments.
