The Alster swans are a noteworthy feature in Hamburg's landscape, with about 90 adult animals. The swan service, a municipal institution, has been caring for these birds for centuries. Nieß expresses concerns over the current wet weather, with its heavy rainfall that could potentially harm the young swans. "The downpours are a cause for concern," he said, "as the vulnerable ducklings struggle to withstand the torrential rain."
