two severely injured - Derthing derailed - Delays on Hannover S-Bahn
Due to a goods train accident at a level crossing, there are disruptions on the S-Bahn in Hannover. The lines S6 and S7 are affected, according to the operating company Transdev. North of Hannover, the locomotive of the goods train derailed partially, as Deutsche Bahn further reported. According to the police, two people were seriously injured.
The track was closed behind Hannover station in the area of the nearby level crossing. The S6 therefore runs between Hannover and Celle without stops for the time being. The S7 only goes as far as Ehlershausen. From there, there is a replacement bus service to Celle. Celle can still be reached regularly from Hamburg with the Metronom.
The closure is expected to be lifted by 10:00 PM
The S-Bahn announced that the closure should be lifted by 10:00 PM, according to DBInfraGO's information. However, there are expected to be restrictions even after that, which will likely result in delays.
A farmer had lost his trailer with a tractor on the tracks while crossing them, according to the Police. Since the trailer came loose from the tractor during the separation, it could no longer be moved. The goods train then collided with the trailer and threw it into a still inhabited, former signal box. The locomotive driver was seriously injured. The resident of the house suffered a heart attack due to the shock, according to the police.
