Urgent situation - Deadly blaze at elderly care facility
In a tragic incident at a nursing home in Oyten, Lower Saxony, the number of severely injured residents has now risen to three. This follows a fire that occurred on Thursday night and resulted in the deaths of two female residents, aged 95 and 89.
The lightning-quick response from the fire fighters managed to evacuate over 60 residents from the smoke-filled building. More than 100 emergency responders worked together to extinguish the fire. As of now, police aren't sure what caused the fire, there are no clues available. Currently, the burned down building cannot be entered. The initial report from the fire department mentioned only one severely injured resident, but that number has since doubled.
