Oh, I love you - Daughter lets Trump shine with party speech - that's Kai Madison Trump
The grandchildren of Donald Trump are among his most dedicated supporters. And now, the next family generation is starting to drum for "Grandpa Donald." Enkelin Kai Madison Trump made her debut as a speaker for the 78-year-old at the Republican Party convention in Milwaukee and painted a loving grandfather image.
"She's standing on stage for the first time," announced Trump's son Don Jr. of his eldest daughter. "Kai Madison Trump!" What the 17-year-old had to say next brought a lasting smile to Donald Trump's face.
"He's just a normal Grandpa"
"I'm here today to show you the side of my grandfather that people don't often see," began she her speech. "For me, he's just a normal Grandpa. He gives us candies and lemonade when our parents aren't looking. He always wants to know how we're doing in school. When I was accepted into the High Honor Roll (Highschool recognition for particularly good academic achievements, note from the speaker d. Red.), he showed off to his friends how proud he was of me."
Even during school days, Trump would call her to ask about her golf game, she shared. "But then I have to remind him that I'm in school and he'll have to pick me up later."
Her grandfather always encourages her to strive, reported Kai Trump. "Of course, he sets the bar pretty high – but who knows, maybe I'll catch up to him one day."
Shocking attack on Donald Trump shocks Enkelin
The 17-year-old also spoke about the shooting incident at her grandfather's rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend. "I was shocked on Saturday when I heard that he had been shot," she reported. "I just wanted to know if he was okay."
It broke her heart that someone could do such a thing to another person, said Kai. Trump had to go through "hell" because of many people, "but he's still standing." Then she called out to the ex-President: "Grandpa: You're an inspiration and I love you."
The media portrayed Donald Trump as just another person, but she knew him for who he really was, concluded Kai Trump in her speech. "He's very thoughtful and loving. He really wants the best for this country and he'll fight every single day to make America great again."
Donald Trump seemed pleased with his granddaughter's performance. From the podium, he beamed at Kai Trump almost continuously. The freshly nominated Presidential candidate will give his speech only at the end of the convention on Friday (local time), but he is present every day at the Fiserv Forum.
Kai Trump is the eldest of the ten grandchildren of the ex-President. Her mother is Vanessa Kay Trump, who was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 13 years. The 46-year-old former model from New York and the Trump scion divorced in 2018. Vanessa was also present in the Fiserv Forum and sat there with Donald Jr. and their other common children. Kai has four siblings, Donald John III, Tristan Milos, Spencer Frederick and Chloe Sophia. Kai is named after her maternal grandfather.
The 17-year-old is an avid golfer and lives out her passion for the sport in social media as well. Nine months ago, she opened a YouTube channel and announced that she would post golf videos, clips with her trainers, surveys and FAQs, and collaborations with golf influencers in the future. Since then, however, only one other video has appeared, which shows Kai Trump practicing her swings.
Kai Trump wants to become a professional golfer
Kai Trump uses her Instagram account much more frequently. She posts numerous pictures of herself golfing – some of which include "Grandpa Donald." Kai Trump started playing golf at the age of two and aspires to become a professional golfer. However, she also participates in other sports. "I love playing Pickleball with my friends. I enjoy tennis, training, I love the sea, scuba diving, [and] I love spending time with my friends," she described her leisure activities in a video titled "Get to Know Me" last year.
However, Kai presents herself not only as a sporty but also a political young woman. In June, she published a picture of herself with her grandfather at a Turning Point USA event in Detroit on Instagram. The right-wing non-profit organization advocates for conservative politics in high schools, colleges, and universities.
Even after the attack on her grandfather, Kai Trump shared the iconic photo of Donald Trump with blood on his face and a raised fist on the campaign trail and wrote, "We love you, Grandpa. Never stop fighting!"
