The 46-year-old politician was assaulted by a man on Friday. The 39-year-old suspect is believed to have struck her with a fist on the upper arm. The man, currently in custody, has denied his involvement in court.
The Danish outlet, Ritzau, disclosed that Frederiksen won't attend any public engagements on Sunday, having previously cancelled her participation in various events on Saturday. The police communicated through X that their preliminary assumption excludes the attack as being politically driven. The suspect may have been under the influence of alcohol and drugs, according to Ritzau.
