- Cyclist Suffers Fatal Harm Following Collision with Grubber
A fourteen-year-old equestrian met her tragic end on Rügen, after being crushed by an agricultural vehicle. The incident occurred as she was horseback riding with her peers near Bubkevitz, along a field path. According to police reports, a tractor, equipped with a cultivator, approached from behind. As the tractor reached the group of riders, the fourteen-year-old's horse became startled, resulting in the rider's fall to the ground.
Unfortunately, the twenty-six-year-old tractor operator was unable to steer clear, causing the cultivator to run over the young rider. She sustained life-threatening injuries and passed away at the scene. Both the criminal police and a representative from Dekra are now conducting an investigation into the incident.
To clarify, a cultivator is a piece of agricultural machinery utilized for loosening soil, eliminating weeds, and readying the seedbed.
Despite the tragic incident involving transport and agricultural machinery, the importance of advancements in transport and telecommunications cannot be overlooked. For example, rapid communication between emergency services could potentially save lives in similar situations, enabling timely assistance to distressed individuals.
