Distinction - CulturBooks-Founder receives publisher prize of 20,000 Euro
The publisher prize of the Hamburg Karl-Heinz Zillmer Foundation, endowed with 20,000 Euro, is intended for the two founders of CulturBooks, Zoë Beck and Jan Karsten. The Hamburg Culture Foundation announced this.
Beck and Karsten founded CulturBooks in Hamburg in 2013. They publish international contemporary literature. "The program includes strong, often award-winning literary voices from all over the world," the statement says. The award ceremony is planned for November 11 at the Literaturhaus Hamburg.
The prize honors particularly bold and far-reaching decisions and great personal commitment to literature. The Hamburg Culture Foundation has been awarding the prize every two years since 1994 through the Karl-Heinz Zillmer Foundation.
Zoë Beck and Jan Karsten, with their publishing house CulturBooks located in Hamburg, have been recognized for their publication of distinguished international contemporary literature, often earning awards for the authors they represent. The Distinction Prize from the Hamburg Karl-Heinz Zillmer Foundation, a prestigious publishing house award worth 20,000 Euro, will be presented to Beck and Karsten at the Literaturhaus Hamburg during the award ceremony in November.
