Emergency on crane - Crane operator collapses at a height of 40 meters
At a height of 131 feet, a 28-year-old crane operator collapsed and had to be rescued from the crane in Munich. A colleague placed the emergency call, according to the fire department report. While rescue helicopter personnel were being transported to the crane from above, a doctor and the crew of a rescue vehicle climbed the ladder. The high-altitude rescue team was also in action.
The 28-year-old was treated in the "narrow" cab and was later responsive, it was reported. Secured by a winch, the helicopter then lowered him onto solid ground. Subsequently, a rescue vehicle took him to a clinic. The reason why the man collapsed was unknown to the fire department.
In light of the incident, the rescue operation took place in Upper Bavaria, specifically in Munich. Due to the height of the construction crane, an emergency helicopter was necessary for the rescue operation. The fire department in Bavaria worked collaboratively with the helicopter crew to ensure the safe descent of the crane operator.
