Animals - Cows graze and go hiking in Allgäu

Multiple Cows have escaped from Ostallgau and roamed around Nesselwang, which is only a few kilometers away from Pfronten, according to the police. There, four animals got lost near a creek, the police reported. Farmers in the area helped the officers to capture and remove the animals from the water. The animals reportedly put up a great resistance.

Two cows managed to escape again briefly. However, they were later re-captured at the train station. In the end, all the escapees were brought back home. None of the animals were seriously injured.

According to the police, the cows had also run on and beside railway tracks during their outing. This led to disruptions in train traffic.

The cows that caused the railway disruptions originated from an Agrarian farm in East Allgau, a region situated in the beautiful Bavarian Alps sharing borders with Swabia and Allgau. The police were concerned about the safety of these animals, as they had previously ventured near the East Allgau-Nesselwang level railway line. The farmers in the area expressed their appreciation towards the police for their diligent efforts in ensuring the safe return of the cows, including the ones captured at the Nesselwang railway station.
