Court upholds imprisonment for Amanda Knox.

The American woman who became known as the "angel with ice-blue eyes" in the media for years, Amanda Knox, is once again facing a legal decision in Italy. In the past, she was found not guilty of murder charges.

Following a decade after her acquittal in a high-profile murder case, Amanda Knox, an American citizen, faced a legal setback at the hands of an Italian court. A group of judges in Florence affirmed a prior conviction against Knox, who is also referred to as the "angel with ice-blue eyes," pertaining to defamation. This was due to her accusations in 2007, when she initially pinned the murder of her British flatmate on an apparently innocent bartender before her arrest.

Knox would not require a return to jail, because her previous prison term has served as a substitute for this new sentence. When the judge made their decision public, Knox became emotional, expressing her surprise and dissatisfaction with the result. The American, who had made a special trip back to Italy for the court proceedings, is now a married woman with two kids, residing in her native country. The case has yet to be definitively resolved.

The brutal murder of 21-year-old Meredith Kercher in the Italian city of Perugia captured global attention in 2007, as it involved three young women, including Knox, who were swiftly implicated. Initially, Knox endured a lengthy imprisonment sentence, serving four years before her acquittal for murder in 2015.

The verdict for defamation was subsequently overturned by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, resulting in a new trial involving Knox. Unfortunately, her hopes of putting the judgment behind her were not realized.

To this day, it is still unknown who murdered the young British woman. A 20-year-old individual was convicted of accessory to murder, as his fingerprints were present at the crime scene, but he is currently out of jail. The story of Amanda Knox formed the basis for various books, films, and a television show.
