In the evening, Apple announces what the software engineers have been working on over the past months and years.

"Cook is potentially introducing AI integration to the iPhone."

During their developer conference, Apple has a habit of showcasing the future features of its devices. This year, it's likely that AI will be a major focus. However, it's unclear which model of the popular iPhone series will include the technology.

At the upcoming WWDC conference on June 6th (starting at 7pm CEST), Apple is rumored to make significant strides in the realm of artificial intelligence. Alongside their own advancements, rumors indicate that technology from OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, will be incorporated. One potential feature could be the ability to generate new emojis as you type using AI, according to Bloomberg. "This is a big deal," stated CEO Tim Cook during a meeting with young programmers about WWDC.

At Apple's WWDC conference, which takes place at their Cupertino, California headquarters, they traditionally reveal software and features coming with new device models in the fall. This time around, AI is expected to take center stage. According to Bloomberg, a key feature will be an AI function that summarizes the content of missed messages or emails. This would be helpful for those who haven't checked their phones in a while. The iPhone will also have the capability to suggest responses, as mentioned.

Apple's voice assistant, Siri, which currently seems like a simpler version of chatbots like ChatGPT, is also slated to take on more tasks thanks to AI, with Bloomberg reporting that you'll soon be able to delete emails and edit photos using voice commands.

Both Google and Microsoft have recently placed significant emphasis on AI features at their developer conferences. Microsoft signed a billion-dollar deal to acquire extensive access to OpenAI technology. Meanwhile, Google is supplementing US search results with AI summaries - although, as of now, the software has made some errors, like suggesting someone eat a small stone daily. Apple has thus far only used AI for individual functions like improving photos and videos.

An essential question is which iPhone models will be able to utilize the individual AI features. According to Bloomberg, many of them will require this year's models or at least the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023. If the AI innovations find favor with consumers, they may encourage faster upgrades to new devices. The iPhone is, without a doubt, Apple's most significant product. It generates more than half of the company's profits and drives the business with apps and subscriptions.
