- Cologne-Vann military airfield closed for investigation

Investigators are examining anomalies at a waterworks on the Cologne-Wahn airbase, suspecting a crime against the Bundeswehr. The barracks have been cordoned off, as reported to the German Press Agency on Wednesday. Initially, Spiegel reported this.

Following indications of a disruption, a hole in a fence was also discovered. This raised the initially unconfirmed suspicion that the water supply might have been sabotaged. Water samples were taken for investigation.

According to these reports, the barracks could not be entered or exited. The police had cordoned it off extensively. Several units are stationed in the barracks. Among them is the Bundeswehr's Air Transport Wing, responsible for the travel of cabinet members and high-ranking government officials.

The waterworks anomalies are located in Cologne-Wahn, which is an airbase in Germany. The Bundeswehr's Air Transport Wing, stationed within the cordoned barracks, could potentially be affected by the unconfirmed sabotage of the water supply.
