Accident - Coach rams cab at airport - driver seriously injured
The bus driver rammed a taxi and a pole for an overhang of his touring bus at Munich Airport with his vehicle. The 58-year-old had lost control of the touring bus in the bus stop area on Monday and drove unbraked towards the waiting taxi, according to the police. The taxi driver, who was standing next to the car, was also hit by the bus and seriously injured. The 26-year-old was taken to a hospital.
Since the fire department considered the pole for the overhang of the pedestrian walkway to be at risk of collapsing after the accident, the airport passengers were initially led past it. A provisional securing and stabilization should be carried out in the course of the day by a structural engineer.
The police, on the other hand, will reportedly examine the technology of the touring bus for possible problems. The investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
