Last Generation - Climate activists storm airport grounds
Activists from the Last Generation protested at the Frankfurt Airport on Thursday morning. A spokesperson for the Bundespolice present at the airport confirmed the action: "All security agencies are currently working to resolve disruptions as soon as possible."
The extent to which the protest affected air traffic and the number of activists present were initially unknown. According to a report from dpa, the activists allegedly entered through a fence and glued themselves to it.
The protest at Frankfurt Airport was driven by concerns about ecology and climate change, as advocated by the Last Generation group. The demonstrations in Hesse, Germany, specifically at Frankfurt am Main's renowned airport, sparked discussions about the impact on air traffic and air travel. Subsequently, the Federal Police had to intervene to manage the situation and restore order.
