Citroen renovates the E-Berlingo

Citroen's third-generation E-Berlingo, which was relaunched in 2018 and converted to electric drive in 2022, is getting a facelift. The look has changed significantly, and there have also been some technical changes.

Citroen has revised the electric version of its Berlingo high-roof estate. A striking feature of the 2024 model year is a modified front in the new brand style, which Citroen recently presented with the E-C3 small electric van. Like the E-C3, the E-Berlingo now has a face with large surfaces painted in body color, a three-part light signature and a brand logo that is now oval.

The cockpit of the Citroen E-Berlingo is more digital than ever before.

The driver's workplace has also been modernized. They now look at a digital instrument cluster, with a 10-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard. In future, the infotainment system will allow wireless smartphone mirroring. A new feature is an inductive charging compartment for smartphones in the center console.

The fact that an airbag is housed in the headliner creates space for an additional glove compartment in the dashboard. There is also a new multifunction steering wheel with a flattened steering wheel rim and optional heating function.

WLTP range increases to 320 kilometers

The boxy body of the E-Berlingo will also remain in model year 2024.

The drive remains a 100 kW/136 hp electric motor that draws power from a 50 kWh LFP battery. This allows the WLTP range to be increased by 20 percent to 320 kilometers. New recuperation stages should help to open the range window further.

Alternating current can be charged with 7.4 kW and optionally with 11 kW. The on-board system can accept direct current with up to 100 kW, which allows charging up to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

Available in two sizes

The E-Berlingo offers three individual seats in the second row.

As before, the E-Berlingo will be available in two sizes with a body length of 4.40 or 4.75 meters. The large version can be combined with a third row of seats. Depending on the size and seat bench position, the load compartment volume varies from 775 to 4000 liters.

The new E-Berlingo is expected to be launched in early 2024. Prices are likely to rise slightly. The price list currently starts at 40,700 euros.
