Charges brought against members of "Reichsbürger" group
A nationwide raid on December 7 last year uncovers a network of so-called Reich citizens. Almost a year later, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office brought charges - including against businessman Heinrich XIII Prince Reuß.
According to a media report, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office has brought charges against ten suspected members of the so-called Reichsbürger network surrounding Frankfurt businessman Heinrich XIII Prince Reuß. The Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) reported that these were the hard core of the conspirators.
One of those affected was Reuß himself, another was the former AfD member of parliament Birgit Malsack-Winkemann. According to the report, the ten people were charged before the Frankfurt am Main Higher Regional Court. Neither the court nor the federal prosecutor's office confirmed the charges to MDR; the broadcaster relied on confirmations from lawyers.
The alleged network was uncovered during a nationwide raid on December 7, 2022. According to the Federal Court of Justice, the group around Heinrich XIII Prince Reuß as one of the alleged ringleaders is said to have planned to overthrow the political system in Germany by force of arms and install a new government. Those involved would also have accepted deaths. "Reich citizens" and "self-administrators" question the legitimacy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office has also charged other wealthy individuals associated with the Reichsbürger network, alleging their involvement in the conspiracy. This includes a prominent figure, who, like Prince Reuß, is known as a rich citizen.
Additionally, the federal prosecutor's office is reportedly investigating several high-ranking officials within the Reichsbürger group, with the potential of more charges being filed against them.
