Weather forecast - Changeable summer weather with rain and sun
After the heat, cooler temperatures are spreading in Germany - however, summer weather is not yet over. The cold front from Low "Heike" crossed Germany on Sunday and Sunday night, pushing out the hot air that made us sweat in the previous days, explained meteorologist Sebastian Schappert from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach.
On Tuesday it rains
However, Tuesday brings an end to the calm in the weather kitchen: In the course of the day, thundery rain and some thunderstorms form. They move across the middle of Germany towards the eastern half in the evening.
"In addition, there are also individual unsettled developments with heavy rain, hail, and strong gusts not excluded especially on Tuesday afternoon and evening," said Schappert. The daily high temperatures rise again, especially in the east, up to 29 degrees. In the northwest, it is a bit cooler, at 21 to 24 degrees.
Rain and thunderstorms are also possible at night on Wednesday. Otherwise, it relaxes and it can be well ventilated at 16 to 10 degrees.
The sun shows itself more again
For Wednesday, the DWD expects mainly dry weather with pleasant temperatures of 20 to 26 degrees. In the east and southeast, a few more clouds and some showers may form at the beginning of the day, while rain is rather the exception in other regions, and besides some cumulus clouds, the sun shows itself more.
It remains largely cloudless and dry at night on Thursday. Only along the Baltic Sea coast can it rain occasionally. It cools down to 13 to 8 degrees.
New thunderstorms are announcing themselves
Thunderstorms are also expected on Thursday, but it remains dry for the most part, and the sun shows itself more clearly again. The temperature rises to 28 degrees in the southwest. At the coasts, the thermometer hovers around 20 degrees.
According to meteorologist Schappert, a new low pressure system with dense clouds and rain is announced for the weekend: "However, this comes slowly towards the east. So it remains sunny and dry in the southeast initially." On Sunday, widespread thunderstorms are threatened.
On Sunday, the predicted weather in Germany involves a potential for widespread thunderstorms.
Although the cold front from Low "Heike" has passed, the upcoming weekend might bring ninety-degree temperatures in the southwest part of Germany.
In contrast, the eastern coast of Germany might experience cooler temperatures, hovering around twenty degrees, paired with the approaching low pressure system and dense clouds.
As the low pressure system approaches, there's a chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms, posing a threat on Sunday.
