Chancellor's summer press conference on Wednesday

Before his summer vacation, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz answers questions from Berlin-based journalists one last time. Deputy Government Spokesperson Christiane Hoffmann announced his traditional summer press conference for this Wednesday at 12:30 pm.

This is one of the last public engagements of the Chancellor before his vacation, which begins this coming weekend. Beforehand, he will attend a citizen's dialogue in Saarbrücken on Wednesday evening, and on Friday, he will participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris.

During the summer press conference organized by the German Press Association, there will be no thematic restrictions. Therefore, topics ranging from the US election campaign to the situation of the traffic light coalition to the Ukraine war could be discussed.

The Chancellor's vacation destination, however, will not be disclosed beforehand. According to rumors, it will once again be to a friendly European country.

The summer press conference with Chancellor Scholz is scheduled for Wednesday, providing a short opportunity for journalists to ask questions before his summer vacation begins. Despite the forthcoming break, Chancellor Scholz also has several public engagements lined up, including an event in Saarbrücken on Wednesday evening and participation in the Olympics opening ceremony in Paris on Friday.
